despite the cheezy title and obvious cliche, i still like this picture...
well, that is ultimately because the 2 characters of this picture are Alexiel and Lucifer, who are semi-main characters of my favourite manga, ANGEL SANCTUARY... although it might seem a conventional love story from the looks of this piece, it is by no means like that. it is far more complicated and moving at the same time.... those who have yet to read the story are strongly encouraged to try it! it is definitely worth it!! (there are online scanlations available for the entire series of 20 volumes [link] here is one place to try...)
i wouldn't have attempted to mimic Kaori Yuki sensei's works if not for this competition at ... her art is like sacred for me....i wouldn't dare trample on sacred grounds without a valid cause... but it was certainly fun drawing the characters...very fulfilling.... however the hair was a pain...took about an hour for the main pencil drawing, and the photoshop brushing took like 20 mins...brushes? (where from? help?)
look closer: lucifer is crying.... ( my baby....)
PLS FULL VIEW! u need to see the details
I just love the background!! The background gives some depressing effect, therefore bringing out the sadness in the "death" [?] of the long haired guy. Sorry, never seen Angel santuary... The hair is very well done!!!
I just noticed, the one lying down, looks like micheal jackson
ehem.... a few things needs to be clarified... firstly, the long haired one is a GIRL ....LOL guess u can't really see her figure very well... she is supposed to be very well developed in her physique (u know what i mean ^^)
well micheal jackson she might be... anyway i think jacho's look in the early 90's was very much manga-influenced...or rather very unrealistically proportioned...
that's so good... O_O amazin, man, amazin. and yes, kaori yuki is too good. so many details in her works... o_o gah.
great job dude! that manga was good until i couldn't understand it. >_< i should buy the english version... if i ever find it... maybe i'll try omanga...
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
