a freelance commission work done for my ex-boss from my holiday job for his graduating project in visual communications. he designed a game and got me to draw the poster for him. honestly, without him the perfectionist, i would never have realised how unprofessional i am in handling art, in the sense that i usually do not stare at the picture hard enough to pick out flaws (i don't even look at them again after it is done...call it a strange aversion to finding mistakes in my already 'completed' work...)
so i am very glad to have someone on my back telling me that the lace/crochet is too smooth, her hair line not even, the beads 'float' on the hair instead of acting according to gravity's command... of course it is quite exhausting mentally (on my computer too!! it's not used to handling big files i guess.... very delayed reactions...) but now, looking at the finished product (he is satisfied now! HURRAY!) i am very glad that i stuck through everything... the fruit of hardwork tastes the sweetest. and this shall be my most edited-before-submission work ever~
OH YES more about the character. she is supposed to a merchant, selling jewels and the like.. and can you guys guess from whom did i referenced the face from?
2480*2508 pixels.... the BIGGEST i have ever drawn. the fullview version here only shows 30% of the actual size...
photoshop. intuos 3 tablet. i started working on this since last thursday. but i've had a busy week, so no continuous effort, but the total time spent on this should sums up to about 30+hours? i am not really sure though.... time flies when you use the smudge tool in photoshop.....
Looks like Nicole Kidman I think her face is a little bit to soft compared to her hair, jewelery and clothes. I think it would look better with more contrast in her face
Indeed she is quite beautiful. I love her sophisticated expression, and ALL of the detail. Her hair is amazing, and so vibrant. Really well done. , a must for me.
the lace and the hair are my favorite parts on this. also, the way the fabric buckles and folds on the sleeves. her hairpiece looks a little bulky and sharp in comparison to the rest of it... a little more hard-looking. but all in all i think this is quite wonderful.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!

One little thing that bugs me is her neck. It's a bit too long.
I love her outfit

Buying a Nikon doesn't make you a photographer.
It makes you a Nikon owner. [link]
